Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Yash Chopra's last directorial venture, continues to mint money. The romantic saga has earned Rs.101.26 crore at the domestic box office in 11 days since its release.

The movie, featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, released on 2,500 screens on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, on Nov 13.

Made at a budget of Rs.50 crore, the film has surpassed the Rs.100 crore mark in the Indian market, even though it had crossed the milestone figure in terms of worldwide collections within six days of hitting the screens.

Despite mixed reviews from all quarters, it had grossed over Rs.120 crore from all over the world in six days, and at the Indian box office, the movie had managed to get Rs.80.73 crore.

The figures only seem to be on a rise. The buzz for the film was immense, given the fact that it is Chopra's last directorial, a project he took up eight years after helming Veer-Zaara. It has also brought back Shah Rukh in his classic romantic avatar, which his female fans love him for.

Many actors, old and new, are coming together for the first time in a variety of movies. From Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan in Jab Tak Hai Jaan to Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma in Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, which of these on-screen pairs is your favourite?


Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan in Jab Tak Hai Jaan: They are one of the hottest pairs of the year. Yet, we do not think they look very good together or have much chemistry. We have to say that individually they look great in the movie. Maybe the movie might change our minds when it releases on November 13.


Huma Qureshi and Kunal Kapoor in Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana: Kunal Kapoor is rather bland while Huma Qureshi is a spicy live wire! We don't expect much from Kunal in this romantic comedy but Huma will walk away with accolades once again.

Esha Gupta and Arjun Rampal in Chakravyuh: She is gorgeous, sexy, and not shy of intimate scenes. Ditto for Arjun Rampal. They play a police couple. We think they make a compatible pair and we hope Esha delivers effectively as an actress this time around.

 Sonakshi Sinha and Ajay Devgn in Son of Sardaar: Sonakshi Sinha looks like a mature woman and has only been part of masala films. She looks good opposite older actors such as Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan, etc. The movie belongs to Ajay and she is playing the rustic belle once again. We are not excited!

1. Baritone voice- Amitabh Bachchan is known for his baritone voice and although he was rejected by All India Radio as an RJ (Radio Jockey), this turned out to be a blessing for Bollywood. He's been a narrator (for Satyajit Ray's Shatranj Ke Khilari and the Oscar-winning French documentary March of the Penguins) and a playback singer (Sharaabi, Khuda Gawah, Paa. Kahaani, Bol Bachchan and Silsila to name a few).

2. Angry Young Man of Hindi Cinema-The term that was famously coined by English playwright John Osborne, went on to become a catchphrase for Amitabh Bachchan. He portrayed the rebellious and disillusioned man in films like Deewaar, Zanjeer, Trishul, Agneepath and Shakti).

3. Legendary actor- With a career spanning four decades, Amitabh Bachchan has worked with the best directors and co actors in the Indian film fraternity. He has award winning performances to his credit and his films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Namak Haraam, Deewar, Anand, Abhimaan, Sharaabi and Sholay watched till date. His hits like Agneepath and Don have been remade but none match the originals! He was the 'Superstar' of Indian cinema for a quarter century before his down fall.

6. Fighter- During the shooting of Coolie in 1982, he had a near fatal accident while shooting a fight sequence with co-star Puneet Issar. Out of the many incidents, the particular one that comes to mind is during the shooting of the film Sharaabi where Amitabh Bachchan burnt his hands. It seems trade pundits were right when they declared in the beginning of 2012 that the year is going to belong to Akshay Kumar. The actor has again made his presence felt with 'Oh My God'.



 The film has opened to mainly positive reviews with most of the critics praising the film for its unique central theme. If 'OMG' becomes commercially successful then it will be Akshay's third hit film in the same year.

Though Akshay Kumar is not the hero of the film but his cameo is worth watching. He is one of those under-rated actors of Bollywood who have done well in certain genres in the past but have never received the kind of appreciation they deserved.


 However, the situation has changed for Akshay in last couple of years. Due to a bankable niche audience base, he has emerged as one of the reliable actors for the producers.

His last film 'Joker' bombed at the box office but prior to it he had given two big hits. 'Housefull 2' had a huge starcast but Akshay's comic skills made the film watchable. His return to action proved to be lucky in 'Rowdy Rathore'. The film set the cash registers ringing.


'OMG' is getting good word of mouth publicity and is likely to attract more audiences during the weekend, and thus Akshay would be hoping for another hit in 2012.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan loved the grungy, bearded look for his role in Yash Chopra's Jab Tak Hai Jaan. But he has finally got rid of it.

"Had fallen in love with my beard. But it started to scratch... so ripped it out and had to let it go. That hurts too," tweeted Shah Rukh.

The 46-year-old plays an army officer in the movie, in which he features with two actresses - Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. Shah Rukh recently shot for the film in Ladakh and Kashmir.

The superstar has re-united with Yash Chopra for a movie seven years after Veera Zaara.

 Story:

Life Is Beautiful Sekhar Kammula directing this movie under Amigos Creations banner. Mickey J Meyer scored music for this movie. Film starts with Amala convincing her three children, Srinu (Abhijeet), (Rashmi Shastry) & younger daughter Chinni to go for Hyderabad and stay with their grandmother, continuing with their study’s. Srinu comes to Hyderabad to stay at their granny’s home at sun shine valley. Here he makes new friends and starts new life, forming a batch of six friends. Sun shine valley has two phases, one phase has rich people houses named as gold phase and other phase has upper-middle class family houses named as b-block. The rest of the story is formed with what happens in the life of these six youngsters in the time frame of two years. Amala Akkineni, Shriya Saran and Anjala Zaveri playing the important roles in this movie.
 










Analysis:

 Life is Beautiful's First half  is entertaining with right mix of comedy, romance and drama. Sekhar Kammula, who is regarded as one of the sensible directors of Tollywood took lot of pain and has come up with apt casting. Life is Beautiful grabs the attention of the audience through out the first half and the narration attracts. Especially the chemistry between Srinivas-Paddu and Nagaraju-Lakshmi has been etched well. Though the first half is entertaining, Sekhar Kammula made pre interval episode very heavy with adequate melodrama.
