Bollywood's top 10 horror films of all time
Not many producers have given importance to horror genre in Bollywood, still the film industry managed to come up with some really scary films in the past. Ramsay Brothers' 'Veerana' (1988) is seen as a landmark film in Bollywood's list of horror films.

'Mahal' played with the subject of reincarnation. While the song 'Aaega Aane Wala' became a super hit, the song also added to the spookiness.
Woman wearing a white sari singing a song 'Kahi Deep Jale' is still etched in the minds of many. 'Bees Saal Baad' turned out to be a superhit at the box-office in 1962.
1965 film loosely based on Agatha Christie's novel became a cult with spooky 'Gumnaam Hai Koi' song.
One of Ramsays popular film 'Do Gaz Zameen Ke Niche' was all about zombies.
1979 popular horror film 'Jaani Dushman' which boasts of a big star cast became a superhit at the box-office.
Bollywood has been obsessed with haunted houses and 1992's 'Raat' echoes the same notion. With cats and possessed souls, Ram Gopal Varma made an epic horror film.
Bipasha Basu made her entry into the horror genre with 'Raaz' in 2002. A haunted mansion in a forest was enough to spook you out of the wits.
Ram Gopal Varma's 2003 horror flick 'Bhoot' boasts of a story of a haunted house and how later the new tenant gets possessed by the spirit.

Vaastu Shastra shows the child befriending the ghosts of the house.

'1920: Evil Returns' is the latest inclusion in the list of Bollywood horror films. It has got a good opening at the box office.

‘1920: Evil Returns’: Vikram Bhatt is back to scare you

It seems that horror is the new 'romance' for Bollywood producers and directors. After Vikram Bhatt's Raaz 3, Ram Gopal Varma's Bhoot Returns (desi Paranormal Activity) and Suparn Varma's Aatma, surely the list is going to lengthen in the imminent days.

However, Vikram Bhatt, a vanguard of the horror genre, is again ready to shock the audience with his new supernatural thriller 1920: Evil Returns, a sequel to his earlier movie 1920. This film broadens Vikram's love for Scott Derrickson's Hollywood horror drama, The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

Starring Aftab Shivdasani, Tia Bajpai and Vidya Malvade in the lead, the trailer of the movie is just launched and is getting good reviews, especially for actress Tia Bajpai's awe-inspiring acting. After Vikram's Haunted, she would surely get rave reviews for her role in the flick.

1920: Evil Returns is also a comeback for Aftab (last seen in Players in 2012) and Vidya Malvade after 2010's Striker on silver screen.

For the movie Vikram Bhatt has given 'free rein' to actor, cinematographer and now director Bhushan Patel, who has been associated with Bhatts for movies like Tamanna, Dastak, Bambai Ka Babu etc.

Most part of the film is filmed in Sweden, especially for its palaces, country side and autumn season. Cinematographer Naren Gedia has stunningly captured the spirit and essence of the movie. Music of the film is given by Chirantan Bhatt.

The movie, as its trailer shows, is more spine-chilling and eerie than 192o.

1920: Evil Returns is scheduled to release on November 2, 2012.
