10. Computer Application :
To develop desired competency in using the computers for various application in interior design, two compulsory courses in computer application have been included in the curriculum. Besides above, use of computer have been imbibed in the teaching of various courses
1. Programme Title : Diploma course in Interior Design & Decoration.
2. Entry Qualification : Matriculation and as per norms laid down by the AICTE/ State Board of Technical Education (10+)
3. Course Duration : 3 years
4. Type of course : Full time
5. Pattern of Course : Semester system
(Each semester is of 16 weeks and each week has 36 to 40 hours of contact for academic work)
6. Ratio of Theory & Practical : 20 : 80
7. Weight-age to different components of curriculum : Weight-age to different components of curriculum Time allocation (percentage)
a) Basic Areas 24%
b) Applied Areas
(specific Discipline courses including Elective) 65%
c) Management course 11%

8. Industry Institute Interaction
Regular visits to industry/field forms regular part of each curriculum area.
Extension lectures a minimum of 4 lectures per semester are recommended to invite professionals from field to deliver extension lectures/demonstration on specialized topics.
Project oriented practical training of 7 weeks forms essential component of sixth semester.
9. Elective :
To Develop in-depth knowledge and skill, students have been provided option of selecting one elective out of the following four areas :
Regular visits to industry/field forms regular part of each curriculum area.
Extension lectures a minimum of 4 lectures per semester are recommended to invite professionals from field to deliver extension lectures/demonstration on specialized topics.
Project oriented practical training of 7 weeks forms essential component of sixth semester.
9. Elective :

An Interior Designer has to understand attitudes, lifestyles and cultural preferences, and take all three into account in their designs They work with architects to decorate the interior of house holds and commercial establishment.
Functions
- To design and execute interiors of various types such as residential, commercial and industrial establishments, show room/shop, office, conference room, hotels etc..
- To use various types of materials such as bricks, stones, decorative tiles, wood based products, steel and aluminum, thermal and insulating materials, water proofing materials, paints and varnishes etc. for conceptualizing, designing and execution of interior design projects.
- To use appreciation of Color, texture, pattern, sense of shape, form proportion, balance, rhythm and harmony for aesthetic finishing and furnishing for executing interior design projects.
- To interpret/read drawings pertaining to interior design.
- To use furnishings and fittings used in interior decor.
- To display various objects and products in exhibitions, museums, commercial and industrial establishment
- To provide interior services such as air conditioning, electrification, lighting, water supply, sanitary installations, acoustics and thermal insulation.
- To design doors, windows, partitions, paneling ,brick work, decorative tiling, dado in brick work ,timber work etc.
- To use carpentry, painting and polishing, upholstery and draperies, finishing of wall surfaces, electrical fittings, making of furniture items and other wood and wood based products and making models by using different materials.
